I just added some new library tracks. I hope you like them! Some were recorded with amazing guitarist Wayne Krauss. This year, I was planning on releasing an album of music based on nobel prize winning poet Wislawa Szymborska. I am currently in talks to secure the rights to be able to move forward with the project. My good friend Kelley Dolan recorded some amazing vocal tracks to one of the tunes, 4 AM. It is so awesome to be able to collaborate with friends who live half way around the globe! (Kelley is currently in Dublin, Ireland!) If we secure the rights I will post the song on the website. The album is sounding really great and I look forward to getting it out there!

Summer 2008 Update Posted: Jul 14, 2008
Hello all! Just realized that it's been forever since I posted a note on my site. Been busy, I guess! This spring I orchestrated on Disney's Little Mermaid 3, for composer James Dooley. It was a dream come true to hear the LA studio orchestra play our work at the session! On the personal front, Annie and I got engaged and we are looking forward to our wedding! I also now live at the beach, which is something I've always dreamed of, and love being close to the water, attempting to surf, and living in a really hip part of town. My studio is all set up here and I have been working on some new tracks that I composed. I'm looking at putting together a compilation/album in the very near future!

New Tunes Posted: Sep 5, 2007
I recently added new tracks under "songs" on the website. These additional cues are music library style instrumental pieces.

Back in Los Angeles Posted: Aug 30, 2007
My summer project, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is over, and our production of Hamlet was hailed as "truly inspired" and "one of the top 30 shows on the Fringe" (The Scotsman).

This summer was also a great month for releases of film projects I've worked on, including "Who's Your Caddy?" "Daddy Day Camp" and "High School Musical 2." It was a dream come true to finally see my name in the credits at the end of a film! It was also great to see my name on IMDB as well.

It feels like home to be back in Los Angeles! I've spent the past few weeks getting adjusted to LA time and building up my studio with new purchases. I'm excited about what this fall and the future holds for upcoming projects.

Orchestration Gig: Commence! Posted: Aug 29, 2006
In August I began orchestrating a giant 30 minute concert work for James Michael Dooley. It will be premiered by the UCLA wind ensemble on November 15th. You can find more information on it here:

http://www.music.ucla.edu/Events/index.html

It's a great deal of music, but I enjoy doing it, and the quality of the writing makes the project worth it. I've been spending a lot of time in front of the computer, getting a bit stir-crazy, but I'm really excited to be working with Jim Dooley.

March Madness Posted: Mar 3, 2006
Thought I'd throw any entry in here to update on all the latest. Been playing a ton of piano lately! Much to do at Harvard-Westlake school and also some accompanying on the side with opera singer Rebecca Sjowall. She was a finalist in the Burbank Symphony young artist competition and we played a mini-recital last Saturday night. In the composition department, I wrote a piece titled "Music, When Soft Voices Die" for SSA choir that the Harvard-Westlake Vocal Ensemble is going to perform. I think the piece turned out great and it seems like the ensemble is having a good time learning it. The poetry is Percy Shelley. I love setting the romantic poets! We will perform the piece at their Spring Recital May 4th at 7:30pm at the Harvard-Westlake school.

Hitting my stride Posted: Nov 29, 2005
We are approaching December, and my new computer, sound card, and software are all up and running! (Knock on wood) I feel like my compositional style and also the tools of the trade have escalated. Check out my latest material: "Vegas Afterglow," "Friday Comes First," and "Gulfstream." I played them for my composer friend John back in Miami and he said that since Paris he has noticed a new level of maturity and finesse in my style. Now with the proper tools to make my music competitive, I think I'm in a good place. I still practice counterpoint and keyboard harmony everyday to keep my ears and eyes sharp. I will continue to step up my level and push myself. Train harder.

LA and loving it Posted: Oct 18, 2005
Hello to all. Been settling in here in Los Angeles, and I really enjoy it. I think it was one of those things that was "meant to be." Everything has just fallen into place beyond what I had ever expected. I guess now was the perfect time to do it. I can't wait to get my studio up and running and get to share my latest musical developments. Paris was such a learning experience musically that I can wait to dive in and use that momentum.

We're Coming to America (yes) Posted: Aug 1, 2005
Neil Diamond; Hot August Nights reference (thanks, Todd) Well, got some sleep after traversing Europe (Train from Paris to Munich, Flights from Munich to London to Miami). Jerry Springer was on my flight home. It feels good to be back, had a nice cool ice water and sushi upon return! Absolutely loved Paris, it was the experience of a lifetime and the musical training was groundbreaking. The Lourve, Champs-eleysis, Eiffel tower, it was all spectacular. Met some great people I will never forget. Still craving BBQ and corn...they didn't have any of that in Paris and going to have to quell that craving. Anyway, will write again soon, but now in the process of getting moved to Los Angeles.

In Miami; Awaiting Trip to Europe Posted: Jun 16, 2005
Okay, so we fly out on June 21st and in the meantime hanging out in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. Feel like a vagabon, but soon will be in Vienna and off to Paris. Received more info from the EAMA people (Paris-Boulanger festival) and it appears that we will be working hard during July. Ready to take the writing/theory/ear training to a new level, though. Special thanks to the Vidal family for their gracious hospitality. Finished a new choral work entitled "Cor Vestrum Non Turbeteur" (or Do Not Let Your Heart be Troubled). Think it brings my writing forward. If we get a recording will put it on the site. See you in Europe!

Hanging out in Los Angeles Posted: Jun 1, 2005
Having a great time in LA. Went to see the Dodgers game on Monday, hung out with fellow composer Jon Lee on Tues. and looking forward to the "Cinderella Man" premiere with Thomas Newman tomorrow. Weather has been perfect...much better than sweltering Miami!
